I never liked mecha anime and the only one I had actually enjoyed was Code Geass, mainly because of the great story (the mecha fights got me really bored). Neon Genesis Evangelion is considered a classic must watch anime for many and I decided to give it a go. So far so good! I can't say I am invested in anyone yet and no shivers of excitement overtook me, but I am enjoying the pace of the story, the subtlety of character creation, the music and animation. It's definitely refreshing. The intro is awesome too! I never skip it!
Sometimes I feel like I have grown out of shonen/soujo anime and manga, yet I never forget the classics and always seem to find a way back into the genre. That being said I watched the new Dragonball movie (thanks to my partner's suggestion) and enjoyed it. The high point was, of course, Broly himself and the character development we finally got for him. Such a tragic character. It made me an instant fan of his! (I had always been a Trunks girl.)
